Webspace
Webspace is the amount of allotted
disk space on the server your are allowed to use. This
space is used to store all files needed for your website,
including HTML files, image files, CGI scripts, multimedia
files, and any other files used for your website. The
more webspace for future growth, the better!
Just enough
or room for growth
Those on the Silver service have
between 5mb & 25mb of space which is enough to build
a small site with many pages. All clients on the Gold
package are allowed to use up to 350MB of webspace on
their account as a part of their monthly fee, with Platinum
accounts allowing up to 500mb! Included in the space
allocation are all files within the clients virtual
server and includes all pending e-mail for download.
The space allocation on does not include the log files,
which can grow considerably up to 1Gb for popular websites.
More than
you need?
We realize that 350MB of webspace
is far more than most of our clients will ever use.
Our Gold package considers the fact that increasingly
popular media applications will require far more data
storage than static HTML files. We allow so much space
because we want our hosting service to be well suited
for the media technology of tomorrow. Think of unused
webspace as future inventory. Tomorrows websites will
be very dynamic and require large applications. Dynamic
websites constant update and archive yesterdays information.
Websites which integrate into databases such as mySQL
will increasing grow and require more storage space.
So which
one is for me?
On the Bronze forwarding service
we are just hosting your domain, but the actual files
that make up the site are stored elsewhere so you can
make use of space that might come with your ISP. The
Silver package comes with enough space to host a small
site while the Gold and Platinum packages allows you
to develop your site without worrying about space. If
you are looking to host multiple sites then the Virtual
Server package allows you to host multiple sites within
your 300mb space allocation - if you need more space
you can purchase another server, some web designers
also purchase a Gold or Platinum account to allow use
of the development features inherent in those packages.
