Power
Recovery
Using technology provided by American
Power Conversion as an intermediate solution to the natural
gas power generator, power for the Network Operations
Center is a sure thing.
Underground
Power Grids
The Network Operations Center is housed
in a building situated on dual power grids. If one grid
fails, the power switches to the other available power
grid. With the city power underground, the likelihood
of power failure due to ice, wind, and other natural causes
is very very rare.
Power
failure? No problem!
With a Matrix 5000 system for every
5 Sun servers as an intermediate backup solution in the
event of power failure. The solution we use will provide
up to 2 hours of power before resources are depleted.
The network operations, routers, switches, and other essential
devices are fed off of separate APC battery backup solutions.
Generating
Naturally ...
The use of a natural gas power generator
is just another sign of commitment to quality of service.
This generator is the third line of defense in the event
of power failure. With natural gas, this solution will
continue to not only power the Network Operations Center,
but the entire facilities. To date, this generator has
never had to be used. Monthly test runs do however, occur
to ensure the generator is in working order.
